Marketing campaigns are created to make the customer aware of new promotions that take place for a definite or an extended period. Campaigns are sent to customers by direct email. We can add more than one promotion to a campaign. This way all reservations when properly booked against these campaigns and promotions would help the marketing department to understand the reach and the effectiveness or conversion ratios.
When we go to the campaign screen, the first thing that is thrown up is the Campaign search screen where we can search based on the search parameters given as shown below in the screen.
In this case, we went for a Search without giving search criteria, whereupon Centaur listed all the Campaigns, active as well as inactive. To narrow down the search results or confine them to just the active ones, we selected active campaigns from the Status droplist that appears as soon as the search results are retrieved as shown below. You can also see the button for creating a New Campaign has also appeared on the Search Screen.

While creating a new campaign, there are some mandatory information that Centaur expects the operator to supply. These are Campaign Source Date, Name, Start and End Date. The Campaign Source is used to give a unique identification tag for this campaign. This tag is used during reservation booking.
Quantity is the number of seats or rooms that the campaign expects to fill as part of the marketing strategy. The cost is also related to the cost of the marketing efforts towards this campaign.
You can also choose to show this campaign in online reservation forms using the Show – Yes option to showing a Campaign online.
To load the list of clients who would be the recepients of the campaign, we can attach a client list by uploading a file in the expected format.
Other information can be entered in the Transaction Notes field.
Direct mail and Email?
Direct Mail campaign is used when you need to send the campaign to a group of contacts directly. We can load a client list using the client list upload button on the form. The campaign would then be sent directly to these list of clients.
Email is used when the campaign is already been sent using other sources and entered manually here. We can load the brochure as well as the client list to whom the campaign was sent.
Once the Campaign is created, the Campaign details screen is shown to us.
The Details screen has four tabs under it:

2. Call History Tab
3. Reservations Tab
4. Promotions Tab and
5. Opportunities Tab
Let us look at the details tab as shown in the screen below.
The call history is recorded against the campaign names that are displayed when a call is recorded in centaur. The very reason of creating a campaign is for having a promotion in the form of a discount that applies to a section of travelers be it first time travelers of let us say the first 100 seats up for grabs campaign. The discounts are recorded in the promotion under the promotion tab. The reservations made against this campaign are listed under the reservation tabs and the promotional discounts are applied to them. Opportunities tab list the ones that have the corresponding lead source as the marketing campaign.
